Clothes Collection for the Klothes Kloset: United Women in Faith will be collecting gently-used clothing and shoes for the Klothes Kloset Sunday, June 14th. The Klothes Kloset is a division of UM Open Door that provides free clothing for infants, children, and adults. A car with an open trunk will be in the southeast section of the church parking lot from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to collect your bags of items. Thank you for your donations!
Second Sunday Snacks, June 14th: Stop by the Coffee House to enjoy food and fellowship Sunday, June 14th between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.! Family Promise Host Week June 21st – 28th: We are quickly approaching our host week. We would love to have you help host our guests while they are with us. There is also opportunity to provide food items throughout the week. Save the Date – Not too Old for Fun: We invite you to join us on Tuesday, June 16 at Equity Bank Park 275 S McLean Blvd. for the 6:35 p.m. Springfield Cardinals vs. Wichita Wind Surge baseball game. We will meet in the south parking lot of the church at 5:00 p.m. and leave for the game at 5:15 p.m. It is a Two for One Tuesday: Bring your Dillons plus card or app to the box office and get two $12.00 tickets for the price of one. Equity Bank Park is a cashless facility and has a clear bag policy. All fans will be required to adhere to this policy. All NON-CLEAR bags, including purses and/or clutches over 4.5”x6.5”, will NOT be allowed. Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items. Save the Date for this Summer Book Study: Each Wednesday afternoon from 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. beginning June 24th through July 29th: Caring Assertiveness, Relating Directly, Honestly, and with Respect is a new resource written by the founder of Stephen Ministries, Kenneth Haugk. Join us in this 6-week book discussion as we learn to communicate in ways that respect one’s own thoughts, feelings, wants, and needs as well as the thoughts, feelings, wants, and needs of others. Learn practical tools to communicate and relate with greater confidence and care in everyday encounters and challenging situations alike. Discussion leaders are Sally Chesser and Beth Strickler. Preschool Scholarships: Help children develop a solid foundation for the future and support struggling families by contributing to the East Heights Preschool Scholarship fund. East Heights is taking up a special offering to support scholarships for the 2026-27 school year. Your gift will help to alleviate some of the stress and burdens of families in need who are trying to ensure their children’s future.
You can make a contribution to the East Heights Preschool Scholarships fund by going to our website at ehumc.org and clicking on the giving tab or mail a check to the church office, noting Preschool Scholarships in the memo line. We will also be taking a special offering for this on June 28th.
Snowball Mountain Challenge VBS is July 20th – 24th! This year kids age 3 (potty trained) – just completed 5th grade will learn to find their strength in God! Please encourage your child to bring a friend for a fun week learning about God through bible stories, crafts, games, science, music, and snacks. We also need volunteers to make this week possible!
