Please Attend the Nehemiah Assembly this Thursday Night, 6 p.m. at Century II! How often do we get a chance to see the beginning of a new movement of God? We will all have that chance, on Thursday, May 9 at 6 p.m., Century II Convention Center. Justice Together, the brand new multifaith organization in Sedgwick County, is having their first ever Nehemiah Assembly, and it promises to be a powerful evening of faith and justice! Our congregation has been engaging with Justice Together in identifying some of the most pressing issues in our community. We identified homelessness and mental health care as the two problems we want to address in this first year. We’ve been researching solutions and now we have viable proposals to bring to our elected officials. That’s what the Nehemiah Assembly does – brings us all together so that the faith community of Sedgwick County can speak with one voice. We need all of you, this one night, to show up for justice. Your presence there says that these issues matter to you, that your faith compels you to be there. With thousands of people in the room, our elected officials will have to take our requests seriously. Will you say “yes”? Will you be there on this historic night? Let’s see what God might do! Dena Davis will be in the Coffeehouse this Sunday to answer questions you may have! Stop by and pick up your ticket!
