Adult Ministries

We want to develop our faith and grow in our walk with Christ. One way we do this is through small-group studies. We offer studies and small groups on Sunday mornings and during the week.

Adult Discipleship Classes

Our goal as Christians is to become more and more like Jesus and to become His disciples!  We recognize we are all on a journey and may find ourselves at different stages along our discipleship pathway.  Maybe you would describe yourself as Exploring, Beginning, Growing, or Maturing in your faith (it may depend on the topic!)  Our hope is that you will find a discipleship opportunity that will help you on your path.  We can’t wait to have you join us!

Monday Night Bible Study

The 4 Gospels aren’t the same story, but they offer the same Resurrection hope. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John devote most of their story detailing Jesus’ last week in Jerusalem, but the stories they tell aren’t quite the same. Each one offers a different lens through which we understand Jesus’ Passion. Through each perspective they reveal an abundant, diverse, and complementary picture of God’s work in the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Join us on Monday evenings beginning March 10th in the East Transept from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. as we use Matt Rawle’s study, The Final Days to ponder the themes of justice, poverty, freedom, and love. If you have questions or would like to pick-up a book and join us, please contact Paige Nelson at paige@ehumc.org

Wednesday Night Bible Study

“Revival” by Adam Hamilton Study: Join our Wednesday Night coed Bible Study as we go through Adam Hamilton’s book, “Revival” and see how he connects John Wesley’s contribution in the 18th-century England with his legacy for 21st-century America, bringing lessons from Wesley’s life and ministry to bear on discipleship today. We started Wednesday, January 8th, but encourage you to still join us! We meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Conference Room every Wednesday! Contact Taylor Rohr for more information, taylor@ehumc.org

Women’s Wednesday Night Bible Study

Come be part of a transformative Bible study this spring! We’re excited to dive into The Third Day: Living the Resurrection by Tom Berlin. This study will inspire you as we explore the resurrection through the eyes of those closest to Jesus during His final days. In The Third Day: Living the Resurrection, Tom Berlin uses his gifts of storytelling and understanding the Scriptures to connect the reader to the experiences of several individuals around Jesus in his final days, focusing on new life and redemption rather than loss. Join Peter, Mary Magdalene, and Thomas as they feel the despair of losing Jesus and the surprise and joy that awaits them in the resurrection. This study traces events around these characters, along with Paul and the disciples at Emmaus, and how the resurrection transforms their lives. Come for fellowship, study, and growth as we live out the hope of the resurrection together every Wednesday beginning March 12th at 6 p.m. in the Dining Room! If you have any questions you may contact Janet Jacobsen at jjacobsen8@gmail.com
