Family Promise Emergency Hosting: Family Promise is an organization in Wichita that provides shelter services for families currently experiencing homelessness. They rotate these families between facilities (often churches) of which we have previously participated. They brought it to our attention that they are in need of an emergency host church to take families in from February 2nd through the 9th. We have agreed and would love your help! There are plenty of ways to help with this wonderful ministry and provide a great hospitality to families in need. If you are interested, you can sign up on the link provided or contact Pastor Sam (sam@ehumc.org) or Paige Nelson (paige@ehumc.org). There will also be a sign-up to bring paper products and grab and go breakfast and lunch supplies out soon. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F48AEA92EA4F94-54481447-family
We are Collecting Mac and Cheese and Ramen Noodles: The children and youth are collecting mac and cheese and ramen noodles as part of our Souper Bowl collection during the month of January. You may drop off your donation outside the Program Office or down by Hedrick Hall. Everything collected will be donated to United Methodist Open Door. We invite you to join us in reaching our goal of 2,000 boxes of mac and cheese and 2,000 packages of ramen noodles.
Human Relations Day: Sunday, January 19th is designated for collecting a special offering to support Human Relations Day. We are called to make an impact in communities where our brothers and sisters in Christ lack the resources or tools to reach their God-given potentials. Our gifts are part of building beloved community through faith-based volunteer programs, community developers and programs that work with at-risk teens. For more than half a century, United Methodists have observed this churchwide special Sunday in recognition of the message Jesus demonstrated during his life: Each of God’s children are equally important. You can make your donation online or through a check payable to East Heights and include “Human Relations Day” on the memo line.

Elevator Project Update: The Trustees would like to make everyone aware that our elevator will undergo renovations starting hopefully January 27th and run through February. During this time the elevator will be completely out of service. As you walk by the Undercroft, you may notice equipment set up in or near the area. Please take care to walk around it and refrain from touching any of the items, as they are crucial for the elevator project. We appreciate your understanding and patience during these renovations. Please plan accordingly and let us know if you have any questions.
