Our youth and adults are excited to be able to do the 30 Hour Famine again this year on February 24-25. The 30 Hour Famine is an international student movement to fight hunger as well as bring our youth group closer to Christ and to one another, while forever changing a child’s life and our perspective of those in need. As part of the Famine, we will fast from noon on that Friday thru 6 p.m. that Saturday. From 9 p.m. on the 24th thru 7:30 a.m. on the 25th, we will participate in a variety of activities here at the church to help us understand the needs of hungry people around the world. Each youth is asked to raise at least $100 ($40 will feed one child for one month). The money raised goes through World Vision to persons of developing countries for education, training, clean water, food, medical treatment and more.
If you would like to donate to help our youth reach their goal of $2023, please contact Paige Nelson at 682-6518 or paige@ehumc.org or you can go online and give at www.ehumc.org
Beginning This Sunday, we are also hosting a change challenge as a fun way to raise additional funds to help fight hunger! Here’s how it works: Pennies count as negative points. Quarters, dimes, nickels, and dollars count as positive points. Example William collects his 500 pennies and places them in the LADIES bucket, thus giving the ladies -500 points. Laura puts her $1 bill (equaling 100 points) in the LADIES bucket, so now the ladies have -400 points. Stop by our display in the Coffee House for more information! All money collected will make a positive impact in children’s lives!!
