Meals for Ukrainian Refugee Relief
East Heights is joining with Numana, Inc. to host a meal packing event for the people of Ukraine on Saturday, May 7, from 10 a.m. til Noon. We will pack 25,000 rice and bean meals which Numana’s distribution partners will ship to their European partners for distribution to Ukrainian refugees. 10 meal packing stations will be set up in Hedrick Hall where 100 volunteers will measure the ingredients, scoop them into meal bags, weigh and seal the bags, and box the finished product. This is a family-friendly event, and all ages are welcome. Children 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Nursery is also available for small children and infants with a reservation. Please call Beth in the office if you will need the nursery.
17 green shirt volunteer leaders are needed to set up the stations and help run the event.
Email Beth Strickler, beth@ehumc.org, for more details if you can be a green shirt leader.
In 50/50 partnership with Numana, Inc., East Heights will raise $9,750 to fund the 25,000 meals for Ukraine.
Your donation of $85 will Fund a Box of 216 meals.
Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated as we respond in Christian love to the immense need for food for Ukrainian refugees escaping their war-torn country. To donate to this meal packing event you may send a check to the church office marked Ukrainian Refugee Relief, meals; or donate online through our website.
